Galata Bridge Fish Restaurant Guide: Prices, What to Order & How to Get There
Eating fish under Galata Bridge is one of Istanbul's classic experiences. Below the traffic and the fishermen's rods, a row of restaurants sits right at the water's edge, looking out over the Golden Horn towards the Süleymaniye Mosque, the New Mosque and the domes of the historic peninsula. This guide explains what to order, what it costs and how to get there.
Why eat under Galata Bridge?
- The view: tables at water level face the Golden Horn and the old city skyline — spectacular at sunset.
- The location: between Karaköy and Eminönü, a short walk from Galata Tower, the Spice Bazaar and the ferry piers.

The best place for fresh grilled sea bass in Istanbul?
Sea bass (levrek) is the most-ordered fish at Miraport: a whole 380 g fish, grilled and served with rocket, red onion, lemon and rice. For a bigger occasion, choose a wild sea bass by weight and have it grilled or baked in salt at your table.
How to order like a local
- Start with 3–4 cold mezes to share — haydari, smoky eggplant, sea beans and spicy ezme are classics.
- Add a hot starter such as fried calamari or shrimp casserole.
- Choose your main fish — ask which fish is in season today.
- Finish with künefe and a glass of Turkish tea.
Getting there
- From Galata Tower: 10–15 minutes downhill to Karaköy, then down the stairs to the lower level of the bridge.
- By tram (T1): get off at Karaköy or Eminönü — both stops are a few minutes' walk from the bridge.
- By ferry: Karaköy and Eminönü piers are right next to the bridge.
- Address: Yeni Galata Köprüsü altı KB No 7, Beyoğlu, Istanbul.
